Adhunik Automation designs and supplies PLC based pump controllers for HVAC chilled water systems, hot water systems, water treatment plants, and industrial pumping stations across Delhi NCR, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurugram. Our pump control systems use PLC logic with HMI display, VFD integration, and BMS communication to automate pump sequencing, pressure management, and energy optimization, all from a single control panel.
A PLC based pump controller is an automated control system that manages multiple pumps to maintain a target differential pressure in a discharge header. Instead of running all pumps at full speed continuously, the PLC reads actual pressure data from a differential pressure transmitter and adjusts pump speed and sequencing to match real demand.
Our PLC pump control systems support 2 to 8 pumps per installation and are fully configurable for your application requirements, including set point adjustment, alternation intervals, and manual override options.
Sector: HVAC
Application Name: Pump Logic controller ( 2-8 Pumps)
Configuration: PLC with HMI and Analog Input Card for DPT. Modbus for communication with BMS.
1. Pressure Sensing
A differential pressure transmitter continuously monitors pressure in the discharge header and sends real-time readings to the PLC via analog input.
2. PLC Processing
The PLC compares actual pressure against the set point entered in the HMI. If pressure is below the set point, the PLC increases the master pump speed through a Variable Frequency Drive. If the set point is still not met, follower pumps are started one by one until pressure is achieved.
3. Pump Alternation
The pump logic controller automatically alternates between pumps at user-defined intervals, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours. At each alternation, the next pump in sequence becomes the master. This ensures equal run hours across all pumps and extends overall system life.
4. Manual Control
The PLC has provision to start or stop individual pumps manually from the HMI when required, for maintenance, testing, or in case the DPT signal is lost.
5. HMI Display
All VFD parameters that the customer needs to view are displayed on the HMI screen in real time, including pump status, pressure readings, speed, current, and fault history.
6. BMS Communication
The PLC pump control panel communicates with the Building Management System via Modbus through GC-RS422-COM, giving your BMS operator full visibility of pump status and system data from the central control room.
